Terms and conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all adult jive dance classes, courses, workshops, and social dance events provided by Rock'n'Roll Revlution Jive Club (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By booking or attending a class, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Eligibility

1.1 Classes are open to adults aged 18 years and over only.
1.2 Participants must be physically capable of taking part in moderate physical activity.
1.3 It is your responsibility to inform us of any medical conditions, injuries, or disabilities that may affect your participation.

2. Bookings and Payment

2.1 All classes must be booked in advance unless otherwise stated.
2.2 Payment must be made in full before attending the class or course.
2.3 We accept payment via bank transfer / online booking system / cash if applicable.
2.4 Places are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

3. Cancellations and Refunds

Single Classes

3.1 Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the class may be transferred to another class (subject to availability).
3.2 No refunds or transfers are available for cancellations made within 24 hours of the class start time or for non-attendance.

Courses or Blocks of Classes

3.3 Course bookings are non-refundable once the course has started.
3.4 Missed classes cannot normally be refunded or carried forward, except at our discretion.
3.5 If we cancel a class or course, you will be offered a replacement class or a refund for the cancelled session(s).

4. Class Changes and Cancellations by Us

4.1 We reserve the right to change instructors, venues, or class times where necessary.
4.2 We reserve the right to cancel classes due to low numbers, illness, venue issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
4.3 In such cases, we will provide as much notice as reasonably possible and offer an alternative class or refund.

5. Health, Safety and Personal Responsibility

5.1 Participation is entirely at your own risk.
5.2 You are responsible for warming up appropriately and following instructor guidance.
5.3 We accept no responsibility for injuries sustained during classes except where caused by our negligence.
5.4 You should stop immediately and inform the instructor if you feel unwell, dizzy, or in pain.
5.5 Suitable footwear must be worn — clean, non-marking shoes that allow safe movement and turning.

6. Physical Contact and Partner Work

6.1 Jive dancing involves physical contact and partner rotation.
6.2 By attending, you consent to appropriate dance-related contact.
6.3 Respectful behaviour is expected at all times.
6.4 Harassment, aggressive behaviour, or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated and may result in removal from class without refund.

7. Liability and Personal Property

7.1 We are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.
7.2 Personal items are brought to classes at your own risk.

8. Photography and Video

8.1 We may take photographs or videos during classes for promotional purposes.
8.2 If you do not wish to appear in promotional material, please inform the instructor in advance.
8.3 You may not record classes without prior permission from the instructor.

9. Data Protection (GDPR)

9.1 We collect and store personal information only for the purpose of managing bookings and communication.
9.2 Your data will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except where legally required.
9.3 You may request access to or deletion of your personal data at any time in line with UK GDPR regulations.

10. Code of Conduct

10.1 Treat instructors and fellow dancers with courtesy and respect.
10.2 Follow instructor instructions for safety and class flow.
10.3 We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any participant whose behaviour disrupts the class or makes others uncomfortable.

11. Changes to These Terms

11.1 We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
11.2 The most recent version will always be available on our website or on request.

12. Governing Law

12.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland.
12.2 Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
